Policy of Screening for Plagiarism
Policy of Screening for Plagiarism
Cahaya Edukasia is committed to upholding the integrity of academic publications by ensuring that all submissions are free from plagiarism and other unethical practices. The journal implements a strict policy for screening plagiarism as outlined below:
1. Plagiarism Screening Process:
- All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening using reliable plagiarism detection software.
- The editorial team reviews the similarity report to assess the originality of the manuscript.
2. Plagiarism Threshold:
- Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references, direct quotations, and commonly used phrases) will be returned to the authors for revision.
- Manuscripts with a similarity index above 30% will be automatically rejected.
3. Actions in Case of Plagiarism:
- If minor similarities are detected, authors will be required to revise and properly attribute the sources.
- If major plagiarism (extensive copying or duplication) is identified, the manuscript will be rejected, and the authors may be blacklisted from future submissions.
- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.
4. Responsibilities of Authors:
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cite any sources used.
- Self-plagiarism (reusing substantial parts of one’s own published work without proper citation) is strictly prohibited.
5. Editorial and Reviewer Role:
- Editors and reviewers are encouraged to report any suspected plagiarism during the review process.
6. Ethical Compliance:
- The journal adheres to the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling cases of plagiarism.
